How long does it take to build a pool?

Depending on the size, depth, and features, every pool will be different. An in-ground pool will typically take around 60-90 days to complete construction. On our Pool Construction & Design, you can see our 12-step process for building a pool.

No matter your chosen design, features, or needs, H&H will develop a construction schedule and plan that works for you. We’re available 24/7 to get the job done.

What type of pool is appropriate for my yard?

Is your yard right for a pool? It’s important to consider the size, shape, slope, and access to your yard before deciding to build. We will also need to obtain any and all potential setbacks, easements, and HOA restrictions that might apply. We offer pools in both standard shapes and sizes and custom designs. Give us a call at 772-545-3066 to schedule a time for our builder to check out your yard.

What sort of swimming pool equipment and maintenance will I need?

While there is a myriad of pool equipment available on the market, there is some equipment that we recommend. You will need a pump and a filter to help maintain the cleanliness and clarity of your pool. You will also need a means of chlorinating your pool for sanitation purposes—we can help you determine whether you should choose to install a chlorine generator, have a professional come to maintain chemical levels, or do it yourself.

For better pool enjoyment, we recommend a heater to extend your swimming season and a pool cleaning system. Every pool will require some personal maintenance, but with these features, you can enjoy your pool with little worry.

Do I need a pool heater in a warm climate like South Florida?

As Florida pool contractors, we are often asked this question. Many of the spring, summer, and even fall months are warm enough to keep your pool unheated, however, you can enjoy your pool year-round and control its temperature to your liking with a gas heater or electric heat pump, so we do recommend them.

A solar heater or pool cover are great ways to store heat and maintain a warmer pool temperature. If you want year-round heat, we recommend installing a heat pump or gas heating system.

Do I need a safety barrier around my pool?

When adding, updating, or even purchasing a home with a swimming pool, it is important to consider pool safety. In fact, a pool barrier system is code in Florida. There are many safety barriers available on the market that can enhance your pools look while making it a safe area for children, pets, and guests.

If you have young children or pets, we highly recommend the latest in safety barriers. We are a Baby Barrier® authorized dealer, and we can help you find a safety fence or barrier that fits your needs and budget.
